(More customer reviews)This is a beautiful appearing filler cap for late model BMWs. It's made of solid, polished steel with the "M" logo engraved and enamel filled in color. It was supplied with an allen wrench that allows re-positioning of the retaining bar so that the logo will read correctly on any engine.
It's very well made and looks great. It comes with a thick gasket.
A few cautions: Unlike the original cheap plastic filler cap, this one retains engine heat so you should use a glove or a rag when removing it from a hot engine to avoid being burned. Also, the adjustable locking bar is retained by only one allen screw. If that loosens, it can drop into your engine. Once you set the position of the locking bar so the logo reads correctly, I'd strongly recommend applying some red loctite to the allen screw threads to safely lock it in place (as a precaution).
Final cautions: Adding "M" parts to your engine can increase horsepower and may void your factory warrantee. This device should be used by mature drivers only and must be kept out of the hands of children (anyone under 300 months old). It's best to keep your rpms below 4500 for the first 1000kM or until you get used to all the extra torque this oil filler cap will provide! You may also see a reduction in fuel consumption of at least 32.5 percent while using this oil filler cap (power has its price - if you can't pay, don't play). But, after all, since you drive a "Bimmer" why should you care about fuel consumption?
