Purolator A35432 Classic Air Filter Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this air filter a long time ago knowing that I would need to replace it when I reached the certain milage on my 2010 Toyota Rav4 3.5 engine. I checked the "Make sure this fits your vehicle" section on the Amazon site which had this Purolator air filter. The results were "yes, this does fit your vehicle" Now a year later I go to replace the air filter and as soon as I pulled the old one out I knew that this filter would not fit, the old one was diamond shaped and this one is a rectangle not to mention a few inches longer. I know that I can't return it, it's been too long but then again it only cost me a few dollars and it would cost me more to ship it back. I didn't rate this Purloator because I'm sure it's a good filter but I was given the wrong information from Amazon. So buyers beware.

(More customer reviews)I have used WIX products for years and am continuously impressed with their quality and design. I was introduced to them by friends who are "Car Tuners" (used to be called 'performance mechanics', back in the day). Bought a few from a local parts place and have stuck with them ever since. Simply search the web and you will find many recommendations for WIX products. Their oil filters are very high quality, and are resold by Amsoil dealers when their own engineers don't make a filter for an application. They meet or exceed manufacturer OEM requirements in the applications I have used them.
This oil filter is for a 2011 Mitsubishi 4B11T engine, but you will find quality throughout their line. And they are reasonably priced. Finally, you can get a great price here, on Amazon.com, and even get free shipping in some cases.
I have used WIX oil and air filters on the following cars: 1997 Acura Integra GS-R, 2000 Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor, 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Sturdy construction. Excellent filtration. Never a failure.

Fram PH3614 Extra Guard Passenger Car Spin-On Oil Filter (Pack of 2) Review

(More customer reviews)The only reason why i bought this on amazon is because I needed them right now and the "on the ground" stores were all a little too expensive. Not to say that this was a bargain. We're talking about nickels and dimes here, but it all adds up at the bottom of the tally sheet. This replaces an existing fram filter of the same model. They work fine, I haven't had a problem with any that I've ever used. Just make sure that you lube the seal when installing the new one.

When the package arrived, it ONLY HAD ONE FILTER! After again questioning the staff and recapping the info provided, they got back with me 1 week later and stated "we have researched this product and it only comes with one filter". Very disappointed as I could have bought the Mobil 1 filter for a few dollars less. DON'T BUY THIS UNLESS YOU WANT ONE FILTER!

I use this filter because it has a great reputation and history with me on performance. I have several vehicles that are in hostile environment (ATVs, marine, etc....) and need a filter that can hold its own. WIX is that product.

Fram XG4967 Extended Guard Passenger Car Spin-On Oil Filter (Pack of 2) Review

(More customer reviews)The auto parts stores in town NEVER carry these because they want you to buy more filters. So I always order enough of these from Amazon to get free shipping and I'm all set for both cars for months. They are cheaper here anyway.
I run Mobile 1 synthetic oil and use these to capitalize on the longer intervals between required oil changes. With these extended guard filters and 100% synthetic oils like M1 or the cheapest Amsoil 100% synthetics, I go 7000 miles (I could probably go more, but I'm conservative since oil is the lifeblood of an engine and aside from oil I don't do wonderful maintenance like I should).
The color of the oil IS dark, I agree, but the real measure would be to use a test kit on the oil to see if it is still protecting the engine. Color doesn't neccessarily mean everything. I would like to see 99% efficiency in an extended interval filter, but unfortunately to get that sort of protection you have to install a bypass and use two filters at once (one cheap and one 99% filter like K&N or purolator).
In short, Amazon has made it easy & inexpensive to avoid shopping around for hi- mileage filters of good quality. I'll keep buying these as long as Amazon keeps carrying them. The purolators are a good deal here also.

(More customer reviews)The Fram oil filter performed well in my 2004 Chevy Colorado, lasting the 4500 miles I went between oil changes without a hitch. No, I wouldn't recommend using it for the ultra-extended-life oils like Mobil 1 Extended Performance simply because the Fram box doesn't say you can; if you're going to go a year between oil changes go ahead and get a premium filter that is rated for such a thing. For vehicles getting the standard three- to five-thousand mile change, though, the Fram is a good choice.
As a sort of bonus, the top (or, once installed in my Colorado, bottom) of the cap is actually molded to be a grip, allowing for fairly easy barehanded tightening and removal while still being secure.

The friction surface on the filter makes hand installation (and removal after 5,000 miles of use) relatively easy, and should the filter be overtorqued at installation, a filter wrench can also be applied to facilitate removal.

As good as Mobil One filters at half the cost. Out of filters I have cut open after use (Mann, M1, Purolator 1, Purolator Classic, WIX) Denso was the most well built IMO.

(More customer reviews)These were different than the FRAM filter I took out of my car to replace. The old FRAM was manufactured in Turkey, these ones were manufactured in Mexico. The ones made in Turkey had many more holes in the outer metal cylindrical casing for better flow. But in general FRAM filters single pass efficiency rating is lower than the OEM German manufactured filters I have used in the past, so be sure to change them more often.
Buying this 2-pack of filters from Amazon cost much less than purchasing a single one at the parts store (if they are stocked at all.)
