(More customer reviews)This product is slightly misunderstood most consumers (including me at one time!) Simply put, you don't have to buy expensive ATF's from the dealer any more. This company (LUBEGARD) sells what's known as automatic transmission conversion products. The LUBEGARD product allows you to buy regular, inexpensive DEXRON/MERCON fluid, and add a bottle of LUBEGARD to transform the inexpensive DEXRON MERCON to the performance requirements of any ATF (there are several different LUBEGARD products, depending on your car). For instance, instead of buying MERCON V ATF for mucho $$$, you buy regular DEXRON at $1.50 quart and addejust one bottle of LUBEGARD and IT WORKS GREAT! It is very highly recommended by transmission shops in my area.

(More customer reviews)I needed to change the ATF Fluid in my 2001 Pathfinder. The manual calls for Nissan Matic D or DextronIII or it's equivalent may be used. Well, this Max Life VV324 is the equivalent. Also, I hate having to go to the dealer to buy anything!
Note, I went to Pep Boys to compare prices before I purchased this. Pep Boys wanted $4.99 a quart and there is 8.5% sales tax in my area so that works out to $5.42 per quart. 12 quarts from Amazon works out to be $5.48 per quart, so unless you like driving to the store, standing in line to check out, just buy it from Amazon

* Toyota (and Lexus) Type T, T-III or T-IV fluids
* Mitsubishi Diamond SP-II or SP-III fluids
* KIA SP-II and SP-III Fluids
* Hyundai
* Honda/Acura ATF-Z1 fluid (except in CVTs)
* BMW LT71141 or LA2634 fluids
* Nissan Matic-D, Matic-J, and Matic-K fluids
Valvoline has conducted in-house testing to support MaxLife ATF performance in these transmissions. However, it is important to note that these vehicle manufacturers have neither evaluated nor approved MaxLife ATF. Valvoline stands behind all of its products, including MaxLife ATF. Use of MaxLife ATF in Valvoline stands behind all of its products, including MaxLife ATF. Use of MaxLife ATF in transmissions where recommended by Valvoline WILL NOT void the vehicle's warranty. MaxLife ATF is recommended for the new 5 and 6 speed transmissions, except the Ford 5R110, Ford 6RXX, and the Mercedes Benz W7A700 (7G-Tronic) which all require a low viscosity ATF fluid. Valvoline does not recommend MaxLife ATF for use in continuously variable transmissions (CVT's) or in
automatic transmissions where Ford Type F is recommended.

(More customer reviews)so if you notice at the bottom of the container that looks like a gallon it says 32 oz and that = a quart not don't be deceived it really is a quart it might look like a gallon and be priced like a gallon of run of the mill atf+3 but its not a gallon. I ordered 5 of what i assumed to be gallons and got five quarts lol i could get amsoil and that is a much better product for a lot less that this stuff i am very unhappy with this product and that company that sells it .

(More customer reviews)The Redline D4 ATF is highly regarded by Honda enthusiasts for their fragile automatic transmissions (at least generation 6/7). The Redline ATF is not readily found in my locale, so Amazon was a good choice, although still expensive. The Redline D4 is held as a quality synthetic and is supposed to be more stable than the Honda Z1 or new DW-1 ATFs. I performed the Honda flush - three drain/refill cycles and seemed to notice a more smooth action. This vehicle has a good many miles and hopefully will provide continued reliable service.
Remember: the Honda V6 has a fill port (17mm capscrew) on the drivers side top of transmission, with ATF stamped on the screw head. Four cylinder ATF addition is done through the dip stick port.

I just recently purchased some of this D4 ATF to replace the Toyota T-IV in my 2006 camry SE. Did a complete flush. WOW!! I didnt know this car could shift any better. I am very confident in this fluid and have see it perform time and again here in the hot phoenix summers.
Heat is the #1 enemy in any auto transmission and this fluid addresses this issue by allowing them to run much cooler. My trans is running about 20 degrees cooler than before the flush. Very happy with this product and highly recommend it for anyone looking to reduce wear, extend drain intervals and reduce heat and at the same time possibly improve shift characteristics.

(More customer reviews)This is Toyota type T-IV Transmission Fluid, the product title is wrong. I just received my shipment, and uploaded pictures of the front and back of the bottle.
This is the only recommended ATF fluid for Toyota cars that need Type T-IV (just to be clear). I got it for my wifes Corolla, but most Toyota's use it, just check the ATF dip stick, the type needed will be printed on it.
Just to throw in my 2 cents on ATF fluid, it should be changed after 60K miles or 4 years (which ever comes first), or if the fluid is no longer bright red and clear, or if it smells burnt.
On many Toyota's the ATF filter is meant to last the life of the car (Corolla's for example), this makes it an easy job to change the ATF, as all that is required is to drain the old ATF and replace it. A good trick to know when changing the ATF is to measure the amount of fluid drained, use a clear 1 gallon milk jug, mark the level then replace with the same amount. Also it's recommended to drain the fluid cold, unlike engine oil. Be careful not to drop/loose the drain plug washer while removing it.

(More customer reviews)Wow, this really takes a long time, I order a product, it came with free shipping(great), it took 14 days to get to my (area),next stop would have been at my door, it never made it that far. It seems the shipment was damaged in transit, so I followed it for 7 more days to return to (where it was shipped from)then waited 5 more days for a refund? If I had wanted a refund I would not have ordered the product in the first place. The solution to this case would have been to reship expidite (overnight) the item I wanted from the time you new it was damaged. I still want this item, but I will not wait the periods of time these transactions seem to take, we are in the computor age, correct? (More customer reviews)I drive a 1996 Chevy S-10 truck with over 200,000 miles on it and a year or so ago made the switch to Royal Purple 5W-30 motor oil. I've been more than satisfied with the results and because of this I've been wanting to change my automatic transmission fluid over to Royal Purple for quite sometime.
Usually in auto parts stores, Royal Purple Max ATF runs about $13-$15/qt. However I found a case of it here on Amazon.com for an unbelieveable price, and even got free shipping with my order! I knew I needed a full case because I wanted to flush all of the old fluid out of my tranny and have soley Royal Purple inside. I found a lube change shop that would do this for me and even cut me a break on the cost of the procedure since I was supplying the fluid. I was told that usually they flush 14 quarts of fluid through a transmission to do the job, but would do it with the 12 quarts in the box. In their words, "it worked beautifully!"
So far, I've been more than pleased with the results. My transmission seems a bit more responsive now, much like my engine did when I switched to Royal Purple's motor oil. I also occasionally tow a utility trailer and I'm looking forward to the extra protection this synthetic lubricant will provide against heat buildup.
Next up, Royal Purple gear oil in my front and rear differentials!

Red Line D4 ATF - Quart Review

(More customer reviews)I use Red Line D4 in a Type-9 manual transmission in a Lotus Seven replica. The transmission builder strongly recommends using a heavy duty synthetic ATF in this tranny. I previously used Mobile-1 ATF, but switched to Red Line a couple of years ago. Can't say I noticed any improvement or difference from the Mobile-1 but both seem to shift smoothly with no syncro crashing. More of the Red Line seems to get past the transmission seals, but that may simply be due to aging and wear. Otherwise the Red-Line D4 seems to work well once the transmission is up to normal operating temperatures.

Hopkins TF-1 Heavy Duty Transmission Funnel, 18" Hose, Red Review

This may not be a 'show stopper' for most buyers, but, if you know you NEED the hose to be 18", you should be warned that it is not as listed. Perhaps they changed the materials, or maybe the TOTAL length with the funnel attached is close to 18", or they have 'mixed/incorrect' inventory in stock.
I have decided not to return it because , even if it doesn't work for me as is, I can simply purchase some hose for it. Besides, I feel a little silly buying a funnel from Amazon as it is, I'd feel worse returning it!

EDIT: Just used it this weekend to re-fill the transmission/diff. in my Subaru 06 WRX Sportwagon. Plenty long enough and a 'plus' was the plastic fitting on the end. It is a good fit for the fill hole as it allows air to escape but sits nicely on top without 'falling in'. I still would advise medium/slow pouring - but I managed to not spill a single drop. Just make certain you hold the funnel or it is very secure while pouring. Bumping it to 4 stars. But the description really should be corrected.

(More customer reviews)Most people change their motor oil regularly, but forget about the transmission fluid. I have a few collectible cars. I only use Royal Purple products. They are fully synthetic, not a BLEND like some others, and they have a great web site where you can find the EXACT fluid for your car's transmission. so many people use the wrong fluids. The transmission should last as long as your engine. The wrong fluid or not changing the fluid will ruin your transmission. I have used syhthetic fluids on my Toyota Camry for twenty years. It's a 1990. Still the same engine and automatic transmission. I also use synthetic power steering and break fluid which I change every year. That's why I use it on my other cars as well. Just be sure to check their site to be sure you are using the right fluid for your vehicle. That is a MUST!
