Permatex 80037 Valve Grinding Compound. 3 oz.
Got to love Permatex products and this one is not exception, I've used this many times for lapping in valves on small engines to the big guns. The only problem I've ever had was when the tube is empty. :0)
For most of my specialty chemicals on the shelf from silicon to gasket remover there are all Permatex brand.
Permatex really makes some great products. Just make sure you've cleaned the valve guides, stems and seats really good before reassembly.

Permatex 81724 #77 Sensor Safe Ultra Blue RTV Silicone, 3.35 oz. Tube Review

Permatex 81724 #77 Sensor Safe Ultra Blue RTV Silicone, 3.35 oz. Tube
Average Reviews:

I used this to seal the inspection ports on my diesel fuel tank. Essentially you make a bead about 1/16" - 1/4", with some circles around any bolts. Make sure you clean the surface beforehand: I used acetone, but the recommendation is brake cleaner. I knock it a star because there was a slightly unmixed sputter halfway through the contents of the tube, but otherwise it's pretty easy to work with. Remember not much is "diesel proof", but rather can be quite "diesel resistant".
Also remember that you (or someone like you) will probably need to undo whatever you're putting together to service it at a later date, so please only use as much material as you need to. If a small amount will do, a larger amount is not better. In fact, a larger amount than you need might ooze inside of whatever you're sealing, potentially putting little goo balls in places you don't need it to go.

Permatex 81668 Stripped Thread Repair Kit Review

Permatex 81668 Stripped Thread Repair Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I stripped some threads on a mountain bike bottle cage boss. Instead of drilling it out and rethreading it I tried to use this to fix it. While this worked out I really do not feel like it did exactly what I wanted it to do. The bottle cage has been secure and has not come loose in over 6 months of riding on rough trails, but I think I could have achieved the same result by gluing the screw into the boss.
Bottom line: it works, but it's probably not the best solution.

Permatex 99070 the Right Stuff Gasket Maker Review

Permatex 99070 the Right Stuff Gasket Maker
Average Reviews:

The extremely quick setup time means that you have to be ready to move quickly once you start to apply the product. However, if you're prepared for this, it's enough time to get even a large item (i.e. transmission oil pan) reinstalled while the material is still workable.
The short working time is definitely worth it because you can immediately return the part to service. I recently used it to form a seal between the thermostat housing and engine block on an Audi A6, and it was great to be able to immediately refill the coolant and test the system without waiting for the sealant to cure.

Permatex 82194 #599 Ultra Grey RTV Gasket Maker, 3.5 oz. Tube Review

Permatex 82194 #599 Ultra Grey RTV Gasket Maker, 3.5 oz. Tube
Average Reviews:

This is by far the best silicone I've ever used. Excellent for engine intake manifolds front and rear where you delete the stock rubber gasket such as SBC and BBC.
This must set for 24 hours for the best results, after which it like a rubber tire and is not going to break down and is safe for oxygen sensors and is not effected by gas or oil.
As per the MFG.
Designed specifically for high-torque and high vibration applications.
* Non-corrosive and low-odor
* Maximum vibration resistance, with outstanding resistance to oils, cooling and shop fluids
* Guaranteed not to leak
* Temperature Range -65F - 650F intermittent
* Suggested Applications: Valve covers, oil pans, intake manifold end seals, timing covers, water pumps, thermostat housings.
Need only the best? Buy this at any parts house and online here at Amazon.

No Touch GS8 Auto Glass Stripper - 8 oz. Review

No Touch GS8 Auto Glass Stripper - 8 oz.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
WOW this glass striper works I have automatic sprinklers at home and we have hard water so after a couple of days of warm weather I noticed that my car windshield (on my car show car ) was full of water spots . I went out and got the glass cleaner and went to work cleaning my cars windows and the spots would not come off!!So I talked to a couple of friends and 1 of them told me to try vinegar (did not work) talked to a windshield guy and he told me to try CLR so I went to the store again and got the CLR (did not work ) looked online and they said to try 000 steel wool (I felt uncomfortable using that because I was worried about scratching the glass and having to replace window/windows on my car.$$$ ) So off to the store I went again to get the 000 steel wool . I found this product and the auto parts store (NAPA) by the glass cleaner and asked the guy behind the counter if it worked he said "I have no idea lets go out to your car and see" now at this point I have not even paid for it yet!! We put some on on a damp rag and tried it on my sunroof and in 5 minutes and light scrubbing we were done!! every spot was gone even spots from before I bought the car were gone so of course I bought it. got home and did all the windows on my car they are now better than ever now .. My wife saw what a great job it did on my car that she wanted to see how good it would do on our glass shower door and it took 3 applications but it is crystal clear now !! I am the biggest skeptic about this stuff but this worked for me !!

Permatex 24300 Blue Surface Insensitive Threadlocker - 0.34 oz. Review

Permatex 24300 Blue Surface Insensitive Threadlocker - 0.34 oz.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
EDIT (March 2010): It's still holding tight after 1.5 years!
----
Brief summary: It's been working great for over 3 months on my bike.
Longer version:
The left crankarm on my 20+ year old bicycle was coming loose every month or so. The local bike shop said that there was nothing I could do short of tightening it and that the problem would get worse until I replaced the crankarm (a >$100 fix and lots of fun trying to locate an overpriced unused vintage part on auction sites).
I researched the problem online and came across a few mentions of people using Loctite threadlocker to fix the problem. I decided to get the Loctite 243 since it is resistant to grease. Unfortunately, the local shops only carried Loctite 242 (not oil resistant). Amazon carries Loctite 243, but it is through a third party vendor which charges as much as the item costs for shipping. Fortunately, I came across this Permatex threadlocker, which is also grease resistant (#24300) and is offered with free shipping. My impression is that this is the same exact product as the Loctite 243, but rebranded.
Over 3 months ago, I removed my crankarm and wiped the gunk off both the male and female threads. I applied Permatex to the male threads and screwed the crankarm back in. I let it sit undisturbed for 2 days to allow the stuff to fully cure. I have been riding my bike almost everyday since then (about 1000 total miles), but the crankarm has not come loose.
I'm so impressed by this product that I decided to use it on other screws that would periodically come loose (like on my rear rack). Everything has stayed in place.
If you're unfamiliar with these thread locking compounds, be aware that there are several versions of the Permatex and Loctite. The blue stuff is of medium strength; one should be able to break the seal using the force from hand tools. There's a regular and an oil-resistant version of the blue stuff (best to go with the oil-resistant if you have a choice). If you need something stronger, there's a red version. You'll need to heat that stuff with a blow torch to break the seal. A low strength purple version is also available.

Permatex 31824 Bulb/Lamp & Electrical Connector Dielectric Grease - 0.10 oz. Review

Permatex 31824 Bulb/Lamp and Electrical Connector Dielectric Grease - 0.10 oz.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Although sold for automobile bulb sockets (for which it works great), this product is actually silicon grease. "Dielectric" means that the silicon grease is an electronic insulator. See also Fantasea Silicon Grease Lubricant, "for all types of O-Rings"
Although ordinary automotive grease is very damaging to rubber products, silicon grease is great for ANY rubber products, and for use on ANY electronic connection.
Does your car refuse too start when it's been raining for days? You could replace the entire ignition harness (for perhaps $100 plus labor)---or just coat the wires with silicon grease, being particular generous at the spark plug and distributor connections. No need to wipe off excess.
Is your bathroom faucet leaking? Disassemble it, clean it, and rub silicon grease into all of the rubber seals. Let it set, wipe off excess, reassemble.
Is the A/C plug for your juicer hard to push into the socket? Add a generous coating of silicon grease and stick it in and out of the socket several times to lubricate the socket. Petroleum grease or oil may conduct electricity and burn---making the connection worse. Silicon grease will not conduct electricity nor burn.
Is the door lock of your car stiff? Same solution, slather silicon grease on the key, and lock/unlock the door several times.
Does the right or left channel of your headphones drop out or sputter? Silicon grease will improve the connection.
Do you have to shake your TV remote to make it work? Silicon grease will improve the batteries connections.
Does wind noise at high speed because of a poor door seal drive you crazy? Coat the seal with silicon grease. Rub it in, let it set, wipe off excess
Do you have a classic car with stiff dried-out rubber seals? This stuff is first aid. If they aren't too dead, silicon grease will bring them back to life, and protect them from further deterioration.
Sliding windows in your van hard to open/close? Coat the channels with silicon grease.
Within reason, you cannot use too much. Unlike ordinary oil and grease silicon grease does not attract dirt.
See my "So you'd like to"
"Improve rubber seals or revitalize rubber items"
"Improve electrical connections" and
"Repair electronic devices damaged by bad batteries"
guides for details on other uses.

Average Reviews:

I used this sealant on my 1994 Lexus LS400 AT pan, oil pan & valves covers.
Pros:
(1) Cheaper per ounce as a cartidge; much cheaper than Toyota OEM FIPG;
(2) Less fatigue - used a Campbell Hausfeld PL1558 Air Powered Caulk Gun, also from Amazon.Com;
(3) Easy & even bead;
(4) Good reach due to pointed nozzle, even in very tight corners when your bigs hands can't reach;
(5) Less waste, less leakage, compared w/tube;
(6) Grey color sealant is higly visible - easily distinguish with black areas;
Points to remember:
(1) Let it set overnight (24 hours my preference) before driving;
(2) Don't over-tighten bolts unnecessarily, follow torque specs;
(3) Use a torque wrench;
Very happy with results - no leaks!!!

I used this recently when I changed the fluid in the rear diff. of my 97 Explorer. Didn't need a gasket just the RTV. Seals great and no leaks. The car has 150K and I noticed a leak so I pulled the cover and it has no gasket. So someone had changed the fluid before many miles ago and used an unknown gasket maker. It was worn out but I was happy the fluid wasn't to dirty and not much had leaked out. Cleaned off the old sealant and painted the cover. I followed the directions on the RTV and installed the cover. I waited overnight to refill. Not necessary but I noticed a brake line was badly rusted and needed to replace that. After replacing the brake line I filled the diff. up with new synthetic gear oil and no leaks.
