To save yourself some money on this stuff, just use STP cut with a little 30 wt motor oil in your oil squirt can. Works better.
Use the same mixture for your chain saw bar oil, too

Mann-Filter ML 1005 Oil Filter Review

This filter appears to be a Purolator Classic filter with a Mann label attached.
A very good filter, I think, but I can buy the Purolators for less locally.

For most people I think it's near impossible to judge the effectiveness of an oil filter without an oil analysis after using different brands. Why haven't I seen a comparison test? I think it's because basically, all filters are the same. They have to be in order to meet the manufacturers specification for things like pressure drop. If the filter has too fine of filtering, it's not going to last as long and plug up faster which would make it last less than the recommended oil change interval. Make the filter too coarse and you run the risk of not filtering the oil adequately which would cause excess engine wear and premature failure. In either case as a filter manufacturer you'd lose market share and nobody would buy your filter. So it's all about marketing. With that said, these Mann filters are constructed like most filters and works fine. Heck, filters only have about 3 or 4 parts.

Mann-Filter ML 1008 Oil Filter Review

Mann-Filter ML 1008 Oil Filter

OK, I am not a filter expert, and I don't know if this is as good as the filters that Honda service sells, but other web posters have commented on lower quality in some recent versions (e.g A02) of the Honda filters for CR-V. I have read that Bosch and MANN+HUMMEL bought Purolator Filter in 2006, so this filter may be similar to Purolator Filters.
Here is what I can tell about this filter from the package itself:
"MANN-FILTER is a brand of MANN+HUMMEL, a leading development partner and OE supplier of the international automotive industry since 1941. All MANN-FILTER products are manufactured to the highest quality standards and supported by our extensive range of services."
"Filter media construction features tightly woven fibers to trap up to 96% of contaminants."*
*"Based on SAE tests performed at test laboratory."
"Results in maximum protection and longer life for your engine."
MANN+HUMMEL, USA Inc.
6400 S Sprinkle Road, Portage MI 49002-9706
Made in U.S.A.
Painted white (easy for me to see oil, and easy to write date and odometer on it)
UPC: 8-02265-00009-8
Mann Filter ML 1008 package indicates it replaces:
Purolator L14610
Fram PH7317

Lisle 63250 Wide Range Filter Wrench Review

Lisle 63250 Wide Range Filter Wrench
Average Reviews:

I purchased this wrench and the similar Lisle Import Oil Filter wrench (for smaller filters). I can report that they are both well made, and they both work really well at removing stuck-on oil filters where you only have an "end view" of the filter.
Here are some specific likes:
1) The two jaws, each with two biting "teeth", grip the filters tightly. I put my "three finger" style wrenches (which don't grip nearly as well)into the recycling bin after using this wrench for the first time.
2) The jaws are spring loaded, which holds the wrench in place on the filter while you get in position to turn the ratchet. A nice feature.
3) The harder you turn, the tighter it grips. You may dent the end of the filter a little, but the filter will break free.
4) Between the two wrenches, they cover every size from small lawn tractor filters up through automotive and truck (F350 etc)filters. You don't need a large collection of "cup style" filters. I put a few of these in the recycling bin as well after using this wrench for the first time.
Lisle has solved the oil filter removal issue with these wrenches.

If you use aftermarket filters, this kit rules. If you use OEM Toyota filters, you are out of luck, as none of these fit (at least on the 4 cylinder Tacoma filter).

Lisle 63600 Oil Filter Tool Review

Lisle 63600 Oil Filter Tool
Average Reviews:

This is a great oil filter wrench. It fits almost all passenger car filters and most smaller trucks. You have to have a 3/8" drive ratchet to use with it. You may need a ratchet extension as well, depending on your oil filter location.
The two pieces that grip the filter are connected with a spring. You pull them apart with your hands, put the wrench on the filter and the spring will pull the pieces into the filter. Hook up your ratchet and loosen, the wrench bites into the filter right away. Easy.
This wrench is for filter removal only. ALWAYS TIGHTEN NEW OIL FILTER BY HAND. NEVER TIGHTEN WITH A WRENCH.

Blitz 11849 Dispos-Oil Review

Blitz 11849 Dispos-Oil
Average Reviews:

This was exactly what I was looking for (a very wide-mouthed jug that can hold more than one oil change), and surprisingly, I've never seen another product like it.
I've always stayed away from using the bulky oil pan/container combos, because they look like they would make a mess, and are usually very low quality. Using one of these with a traditional open-faced oil pan is perfect, and creates very little mess. The mouth of the jug is even wide enough so that you don't need to use a funnel when transferring oil from the pan to the jug (so long as you're somewhat careful). If you've been using old milk jugs or something similar, then you know how much of a mess this can create due to spills, over-fills, and drippy funnels as you switch jugs. The extra wide mouth, and 12 quart capacity eliminates all of these problems.
I got this at a local autoparts store for about half of the current listed price on Amazon, and even then felt that I was over paying (but like I said, I've never seen another product like it, so I had no choice but to pay what they were asking). As other reviewers have mentioned, the plastic is very thin, and the cap does not go on very securely. I filled it with water when I got home in order to test it (better to have to clean up a water mess than an oil mess), and found that there were no leaks at all around the thin plastic's mold seam, but when I turned it upside down, as predicted, the area around the cap leaked heavily.
This shouldn't be a problem so long as you don't over fill it, but it would be nice if it were better quality. Just pick up any American-made gas container, and you will immediately see and feel the difference. These jugs are made with blown plastic, and probably cost less than $0.50 each to produce and ship, so it really is a shame that the price is so high.
Like I said, these jugs are very convenient, but due to the poor quality, and the fact that they will obviously get knocked around while doing what they were intended to do, I don't expect it to last longer than a year or two. Oh well..
