(More customer reviews)OK, so you are a backyard mechanic which probably means that you do basic maintainance on you car. An oil change, the single most important thing you can do for you car takes about 45 minutes depending on the vehicle and the tools at hands. If you own your vehicle and spent good money for it (never heard of BAD money) then your car deserves the best oil and filter money can buy! That's where K&N comes in!!! I know you can take your Audi or Corvette or even a Chrysler 300 to an chain place that specializes in fast service but think about what they are putting into your engine! I want my car to last a long time and run the way it was designed to run and thats why I use K&N and an oil like Mobil One Synthetic or Penzoil Synthetic. It may double the price of an oil change but it will also double the life of your engine...maybe even triple it! I run high performance cars and would never think about anything but K&N and I don't worry about having to run out for an oil change when I get to the 3500 or even 5000 mile limit from a standard change. I know that I have that added protection to stretch the limit and that too saves $$$$. BTW, if you haven't noticed, K&N adds the great feature of having a "hex nut" at the base of the filter which makes it MUCH EASIER to remove in some cars with tight spaces. You may need to buy a socket for it but that's a one time thing! GO K&N AND RELAX KNOWING YOU"VE TREATED YOUR ENGINE TO FILET MIGNON, NOT HAMBURGER!
