Castrol SRF Brake Fluid Review

Castrol SRF Brake Fluid

Let's get something straight first. The actual product has nothing to do with Amazon.com since it was manufactured by Castrol. The actual seller was Racer Parts Wholesale, and they did a fine job packaging and shipping my item in a timely fashion. So, those guys seem pretty solid. In the end, Amazon.com was just the middle-man. So, as it is with most things they sell, Amazon.com doesn't have a lot of control over when their sellers ship product. So, it could have easily been a different story. But, it was a good experience this time!

ATE Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid Dot 4 Review

ATE Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid Dot 4

Most brake fluids are DOT 3 - good enough for the street and normal driving (if there is such a thing). If, however, you run your car at high speed events like your Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, etc., club track days, DOT 3 just won't cut it.
DOT 4 grade brake fluid has a higher boiling point so it helps prevent bubbles forming in the caliper at high disc brake temperatires. When you're really hammering the brakes (braking from triple digit speeds lap after lap) the heat in the disc and caliper can get so high that it can cause the fluid to boil and at best, give a spongy brake pedal feel. At worst, your brakes can go away completely (that's change your shorts time!). ATE makes a good quality product. They make brake components (e.g., calipers) so they really know what works.
I (and many of my track-junkie friends) have been using this fluid with good luck for years in our German cars. Also important, it has never damaged the seals (I am told that it can happen with some products). Change your brake fluid at least once a year and bleed it before every track event for maximum safety.
NOTE: ATE makes a blue fluid and a gold fluid (identical except for color) so that you can see when the fresh fluid reaches the caliper when you flush your brake system.

Motul RBF600 Synthetic DOT 4 Brake Fluid Review

This is the 500ml bottle. Works better then many other brands of brake fluid due to it's higher boiling temperature. This results in resistance to fade due to small air bubbles from boiling and the fuild breaking down. I will continue to use it in both my race bikes.

Being retired and on a small fixed income, I'm forced to drive an old used car, a 1956 Silver Cloud. It requires special brake fluid that's terribly expensive from dealers but the Castrol - GTA LMA Brake Fluid is an inexpensive substitute. I was happy to find it through Amazon.

ENEOS MTF QT GL5 75w-90 Manual Transmission and Differential Gear Fluid - 1 Quart Review

ENEOS MTF QT GL5 75w-90 Manual Transmission and Differential Gear Fluid - 1 Quart

This works great on my 2009 Scion xB. When I had the factory fill, there was plenty of grinding gear noise. It was very noticeable in the winter. Replaced it with Redline at 20K and it improved a little. When I replaced it with ENEOS at 40K, most of the notchiness and grinding sound was gone. It shifted smoothly during the winter. My car is at 60K right now and will definitely purchase this product again for the fluid change!

Hy-Per Lube Oil Supplement - 1 Quart Review

Hy-Per Lube Oil Supplement - 1 Quart
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this in an attempt to rectify the groaning coming from the rear differential of my 2003 AWD Aztek. It was recommended by the dealership as an alternative to spending $3,000 to replace the differential, and it did nothing. I switched to Lucas gear oil, which I was initially told to avoid, and the noise is gone, go figure. In all, it simply didn't do what I bought it for, and I could not return it so it just sits in the shed.
