TYC Cabin Air Filter for TOYOTA Corolla (2003-2007), Matrix (2003-2007) A8006P Review

The dealer wanted to charge me $69 for the filter plus placing it in the car. I paid 11.99 for this and it took me 3 minutes to install it. Don't give your money to the dealer, when he told me the price I said don't do it, it is too much, he said: "The price is more for getting to it, it is behind the glove compartment, it is hard to get there". It is not hard, it is quick, you just need a screw driver, I know nothing about cars, but this was a piece of cake.

FRAM CA9969 Rigid Panel Air Filter Review

FRAM CA9969 Rigid Panel Air Filter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First off, I like From products but am disappointed when they are not made in the USA or Canada. The relatively high price of this product does not reflect that it is manufactured in a country with extremely low wages and laughable environmental controls.
Now to the installation and removal on my 2008 Pontiac G5. On the OE filter the ends of the protruding pleats are beveled at a 45 degree angle. The pleats are not beveled on the Fram filter and hang-up somewhat on installation. A little pressure and the filter pops into place. The problem will come on removal as those square cut ends will hang up on the interior of the air box. I suspect I will need to remove the upper half of the air box to remove this filter, turning what should be a quick and simple job into something that is less so.

Cabin Air Filter for SUBARU Forester (2003-2008) Review

Cabin Air Filter for SUBARU Forester (2003-2008)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It was easy to do. There are 9 screws you need to remove to get at the cabin air filter on the 2006 Subaru Forester. The instructions says 7 screws on top and 2 on the bottom. Though for the 2006 Forester, the instructions in the YTC box showing the screw location is off. Its actually on this 2006 Forester to be 5 Screw on top and 4 screws along the bottom. Other than that, once I got the cover off and pulled out the OEM filter, which was completely clogged and looked at its construction compared to TYC version, visually there was very very little difference and the filter material itself too. It fit perfectly. I did notice that in the TYC instructions it says have the arrow point down when inserted the filter, but the picture in the instructions shows their filter with the arrow marking on the plastic housing pointing up. When I pull out the original, it was also installed pointing up as well. So not sure what to make of it?
Anyway, installed took about 15 minutes, even with the screws taken out, make sure its all 9 screws, (5 top, and 4 along the bottom), you had to give it a little tug on the glove box housing to remove it. Once you do that, then remove the cover that leads to the filter compartment ( Note: you need to gently pull to loosen the two slip over clips and then slide the cover to the left a bit to remove it, then you can pull out and replace the filter with the new one.) Also its only a slightly bit tight space-wise because of some wiring/plastic piece that is jutting out a little on the right of the opening abit. Slight inconvenience only to pull out and put new one in like an ice cube tray.
Once installed, it works fine. My kids use to get a stuffed up nose in my car which I was suspecting my cabin air filter was clogged but not anymore now. I'm going to get more of these filters as the quality seems very comparable to the OEM filter at about have the cost for the filter alone.
Just wish that Subaru had design the access to the cabin air filter easier than removing 9 screws and the glove compartment.

It's an air filter! It does what it's supposed to. I'm happiest about the cost. I think I paid about $15.00, whereas local stores and the dealer would be $25+. Word of advice. Look up how to change your air filter on the internet. If it seems easy enough - do it! My Honda dealer was going to charge $92 for something that took me 3 minutes.

Purolator A35432 Classic Air Filter Review

Purolator A35432 Classic Air Filter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this air filter a long time ago knowing that I would need to replace it when I reached the certain milage on my 2010 Toyota Rav4 3.5 engine. I checked the "Make sure this fits your vehicle" section on the Amazon site which had this Purolator air filter. The results were "yes, this does fit your vehicle" Now a year later I go to replace the air filter and as soon as I pulled the old one out I knew that this filter would not fit, the old one was diamond shaped and this one is a rectangle not to mention a few inches longer. I know that I can't return it, it's been too long but then again it only cost me a few dollars and it would cost me more to ship it back. I didn't rate this Purloator because I'm sure it's a good filter but I was given the wrong information from Amazon. So buyers beware.

FRAM CF10132 Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter Review

FRAM CF10132 Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased and installed this on a 2005 Toyota Camry. It is about the simplest replacement part to do by yourself. The fit on the filter was perfect; very snug and tighter even than the OEM cabin air filter that was previously installed. Be sure to orient the filter so that you can compress the "accordion" of the filter element a bit to tuck it under the little tabs that hold the filter in place. Also make sure to match the arrow on the filter with the direction of air flow for the ventilation system (on the '05 Camry the air flow is up).
Don't expect the baking soda and activated carbon to magically eliminate any outside odors from coming in to the vehicle. We can't really tell if this filter is really twice as effective at deodorizing than regular filters, as the description claims. However, one thing we have noticed is that the filter does seem effective at getting rid of the musty smell that sometimes occurs after the car is started again after the A/C has been running for awhile.
One negative characteristic of this filter is that the volume of air coming out of our vents seems to be noticeably weaker than before with an OEM filter. This seems to be a consequence of the more effective filtering ability of this filter. This hasn't been a problem so far, but we will see if this decrease in air flow is sufficient to reduce the effectiveness of the A/C system when the weather gets hot again.

FRAM CF10134 Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter Review

FRAM CF10134 Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter
Average Reviews:

Unlike most cabin air filters, the Fresh Breeze is impregnated with carbon and baking soda to reduce odors. It is hard to tell how much difference it makes, but the price is lower than for competing name brands. Physically the filter seems to be well constructed. I don't have a fancy laboratory to do any in-depth testing, but what mortal does?
Amazon's application fitment guide for this part is messed up. I know for a fact this size fits a 2003 Honda Accord and a 2006 Acura TSX, even though Amazon says it doesn't. Check the fram.com website to get the correct number for your vehicle.

Wix 24815 Cabin Air Filter for select Acura/Honda models, Pack of 1 Review

Wix 24815 Cabin Air Filter for select Acura/Honda models, Pack of 1
Average Reviews:

this is one of the easiest things you can replace in your car. my honda civic at its regular oil change, the dealer informed me @ xxxxx miles you should replace the cabin air filter. when i asked how much, they told me it was going to be around $120. i refused recalling that i saw a very simple DIY on [...] and so my plan to save $100 dollars began.
you take out your glove compartment box, by squeezing the ends of the sides and move the glove box towards you and the cabin air filter box should be exposed. remove the cabin air filter from the car, take out the air filter and put in your new and clean wix filter you bought at amazon. now you simply put eveything back the way it was and you're done! simple enough right?
the quality of this filter imo is good, it feels like the OEM filter from honda. so far i have no problems. my last words for this review is to spray the filter with febreeeze or put dryer sheets around the filter (tight squeeze) so whenever you turn on your a/c it smells like a fresh scent. i put dryer sheets in mine so my car smells like fresh laundry when the a/c is on :)

After much research and part cross checking, I ordered for G37.
Fits perfect, guess they have not updated their compatibility charts yet.
Hopefully, this helps someone. Was by far the cheapest carbon and baking soda cabin air filter at time of purchase. Been working great for a month.

Purolator L25608 Classic Oil Filter Review

Purolator L25608 Classic Oil Filter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have installed this on my car, and it seems to work. The main reason I decided to go with the Purolator Filter was the fact that it had the plastic top and bottom in the picture shown. That matched the one that was installed OEM. Instead, I got one that did not have the black tops, and seems a little bit flimsy. I am running with one right now, but will probably go ahead and advance to a Mobil1 for my next change.

The Fram Extra Guard oil filter is what I typically use on my car at oil change time. They are typically the lowest cost filter that isn't generic. They have always worked well for me so I have no complaints. One nice feature is the top of the filter is coated with a material that allows your oil filter wrench grip it well so it doesn't slide off when trying to tighten or loosen it.
