this oil was used in my 2007 Subaru. The Motul Gear 300 has been a blessing for my car. Improved shiftability and noticeably less transmission whine. I feel confident this was worth the price.

Cabin Air Filter for SUBARU Forester (2003-2008) Review

Cabin Air Filter for SUBARU Forester (2003-2008)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It was easy to do. There are 9 screws you need to remove to get at the cabin air filter on the 2006 Subaru Forester. The instructions says 7 screws on top and 2 on the bottom. Though for the 2006 Forester, the instructions in the YTC box showing the screw location is off. Its actually on this 2006 Forester to be 5 Screw on top and 4 screws along the bottom. Other than that, once I got the cover off and pulled out the OEM filter, which was completely clogged and looked at its construction compared to TYC version, visually there was very very little difference and the filter material itself too. It fit perfectly. I did notice that in the TYC instructions it says have the arrow point down when inserted the filter, but the picture in the instructions shows their filter with the arrow marking on the plastic housing pointing up. When I pull out the original, it was also installed pointing up as well. So not sure what to make of it?
Anyway, installed took about 15 minutes, even with the screws taken out, make sure its all 9 screws, (5 top, and 4 along the bottom), you had to give it a little tug on the glove box housing to remove it. Once you do that, then remove the cover that leads to the filter compartment ( Note: you need to gently pull to loosen the two slip over clips and then slide the cover to the left a bit to remove it, then you can pull out and replace the filter with the new one.) Also its only a slightly bit tight space-wise because of some wiring/plastic piece that is jutting out a little on the right of the opening abit. Slight inconvenience only to pull out and put new one in like an ice cube tray.
Once installed, it works fine. My kids use to get a stuffed up nose in my car which I was suspecting my cabin air filter was clogged but not anymore now. I'm going to get more of these filters as the quality seems very comparable to the OEM filter at about have the cost for the filter alone.
Just wish that Subaru had design the access to the cabin air filter easier than removing 9 screws and the glove compartment.

Hopkins TF-1 Heavy Duty Transmission Funnel, 18" Hose, Red Review

Hopkins TF-1 Heavy Duty Transmission Funnel, 18 Hose, Red
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The hose included is only 10-12" long. This may not be a 'show stopper' for most buyers, but, if you know you NEED the hose to be 18", you should be warned that it is not as listed. Perhaps they changed the materials, or maybe the TOTAL length with the funnel attached is close to 18", or they have 'mixed/incorrect' inventory in stock.
I have decided not to return it because , even if it doesn't work for me as is, I can simply purchase some hose for it. Besides, I feel a little silly buying a funnel from Amazon as it is, I'd feel worse returning it!
fyi
EDIT: Just used it this weekend to re-fill the transmission/diff. in my Subaru 06 WRX Sportwagon. Plenty long enough and a 'plus' was the plastic fitting on the end. It is a good fit for the fill hole as it allows air to escape but sits nicely on top without 'falling in'. I still would advise medium/slow pouring - but I managed to not spill a single drop. Just make certain you hold the funnel or it is very secure while pouring. Bumping it to 4 stars. But the description really should be corrected.

Denso 150-1006 Oil Filter Review

Denso 150-1006 Oil Filter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is listed as a fitment for the 2002 Subaru WRX, but I can attest it does not fit on newer (2006+ and possibly 2004-2005) models due to clearance issues with the exhaust manifold. The oil interface/mating gasket is the same diameter as the OEM, but the can diameter is about 2cm larger. Height is the same.
Stick with Denso 150-1011.

Red Line 58404 Lightweight Shockproof Gear Oil Review

Red Line 58404 Lightweight Shockproof Gear Oil
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recently replaced the differential in my BMW 328 with a lower ratio and went from an 'open' to 'limited-slip' configuration at the same time. I've exclusively ran Red Line drivetrain lubricants since purchasing my vehicle in 2002 with excellent results. I expect no problems with Shockproof. Thus far, the differential has been very smooth and quiet, with excellent driveshaft to axle power transfer both around corners and in straight line acceleration. I typically change gearbox and differential fluid every 24 months (even though now, on new car purchases, since BMW foots the bill for maintenance, BMW suddenly says those fluids never need replacing, even though in previous years on the same model car BMW included and charged for changing of differential and gearbox fluids in periodic maintenance schedules) and will continue to use Redline products for my maintenance.
