(More customer reviews)First off, I like From products but am disappointed when they are not made in the USA or Canada. The relatively high price of this product does not reflect that it is manufactured in a country with extremely low wages and laughable environmental controls.
Now to the installation and removal on my 2008 Pontiac G5. On the OE filter the ends of the protruding pleats are beveled at a 45 degree angle. The pleats are not beveled on the Fram filter and hang-up somewhat on installation. A little pressure and the filter pops into place. The problem will come on removal as those square cut ends will hang up on the interior of the air box. I suspect I will need to remove the upper half of the air box to remove this filter, turning what should be a quick and simple job into something that is less so.

ACDelco 24208576 Automatic Transmission Filter Review

(More customer reviews)I like to go with OEM parts when I can and if the price is not way out of line. From my experience OEM parts seem to fit better and are easier to install than a lot of aftermarket parts, although not all.
This filter came with a better gasket than the Wix (a brand I trust) filter from my local auto parts. The price difference was a bit more but, for the better gasket it was worth it to me and Amazon had it for a good price.
It was packaged very well from ACDelco. The gasket was sealed flat instead of folded in a box like a lot of others.

Dorman 265-811 OE Solutions Transmission Oil Pan Review

(More customer reviews)I installed this pan on a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer with a 4L60E automatic and the fitment was absolutely perfect. Even though it is deeper than the original pan, it still clears the frame rails so no worries about bottoming out on it.
I did however notice it doesn't take a whole lot more fluid than the stock despite being deeper -- this is neither good nor bad.
THE PAN DOES NOT COME WITH A GASKET
You will need a FelPro TOS 18663 which is a much better gasket than you will find in any filter kit.
Remove and re-install the drain plug before you install the pan because it's way too tight from the factory. It takes a 17mm bolt.
Also consider changing your transmission fluid to Valvoline Max Life which seems to work best in this transmission.

(More customer reviews)Why spend over $10 WIX, WIX is a cellulose and Synthetic filtering media that filters up to 10-12 microns with 45% more capacity. With Full synthetic filter can go 7500miles or 6 months. I personally use Valvoline Synpower(5w30) with WIX and change oil once a year and change my WIX filter twice.
There is only one oil and filter in my opinion better but cost 2 to 3 times more. Amsoil and Amsoil EA filters, combo works for 1 year or 25,000miles.

Wix 51365 Spin-On Oil Filter, Pack of 1 Review

These appear to have a depth gradient filter element, which uses cotton fibers to progressively trap smaller particles as they get deeper in the filter. This helps maintain good flow as the filter gets plugged.
