(More customer reviews)Had serviced a 2005 Nissan Murano w/ 3-liter (2988cc) V6 engine, leaking one quart every 70 miles of travel. Oil leak came from oil pan & oil cooler. The oil cooler is unit which holds the oil filter cartridge. When you remove the oil filter cartridge, the oil pipe exposed is what holds down the oil cooler. To remove this, you'll need a 22mm wrench or deep socket. To save $$, buy gasket material and cut out your own O-ring to replace what the factory had installed. Nissan OEM manual had specked 43 foot-pounds to tighten down the 22mm outlet pipe that holds the oil filter cartridge & oil cooler. The oil pan has ten 10mm bolts holding it. Remove the bolts & use a pry bar to separate the oil pan from the engine block. Scrape & clean off the old OEM silicone adhesive from the engine block & oil pan. DO NOT use silicone adhesive as recommended by Nissan. Silicone adhesive fails after 40k miles, which is why most auto manufacturers don't use them. Nissan has the ulterior motive of increased dealerships' service dept. revenue, which is why they used silicone adhesive. Instead, use OEM-shaped gasket from Fel-pro, part #OS30688, sold by Amazon-com for $1 cheaper than my neighborhood Autozone ($9) parts store.
