(More customer reviews)I purchased the Powermate ProForce 6000 generator. A few week ago there was a major flood in our area with an extended power out. I opened the box and set up the generator. In the midst of chaos, one of the wheels would not hold air because there was a hole in the side wall. I put a can of the QuickFix in the tire, it still would not hold the air. I had to put the generator on 2x4's and concrete blocks to get it going. The vibration produced by the generator due to the lack of a wheel was horrible. The crisis is over now and we got our power back. I have been trying to reach the customer support line (800-445-1805) for 2 weeks now but a recording said that there is no attendant to help; and then they cut you off with silence. If you really want to buy this, try calling their 800 number first and see. I went to the Powermate site and emailed them for a replacement part, there has been no reply either. It felt like the compamy has gone under. The generator seems to run fine but if you need help - you are on your own. I wish I got the Homelite 6,000 Watt 13 HP OHV Portable Generator #HG6000 instead - at a better price and MTD usually has good customer service.
Update on incidence: Finally, I contacted Amazon, I was told by Amazon customer service that Coleman/Powermate did go out on the generator line of products just 2 weeks before I contacted Coleman/Powermate for assistance and their warranty fulfillment. I am surprised that they could simply dropped all the generator customers and industrial responsibility like that. Amazon, on the other hand, offered to pay for the costs for me to purchase the replacement aftermarket tires. Amazon should receive a 5-star on their customer support.
2009 update: The generator was used twice for 2 weeks and now is totally dead.

(More customer reviews)I am a Consumer Reports subscriber (magazine and online), this generator is brand new for 2010 and it has not yet been reviewed by Consumer Reports. The last ratings they have for generators was in June of 2009, one of the top ranked then was Briggs and Stratton model#30242. I purchased model#30470 from Ace Hardware because at the time it was cheaper than Amazon(same price now).
This generator comes almost fully assembled, all I had to do was put on the wheels and add oil, (provided) gas and connect the negative battery terminal. It started with the key on the first try and I don't think it is loud at all, my neighbors even commented on how quiet it is for a generator (my Echo Backpack leaf blower (74 dB(A) is almost as loud as this generator). I have run this generator at half-load 3,500 running watts using 30 and 20 amp extension cords and have had no problems. I fully expect this generator to handle the brutal New England winters without a problem.

The actual maintenance took about an hour start to finish with the majority of the time being waiting for the oil to drain out. Changing the plugs, oil filter and air filter was quite easy. The only tools you need are a spark plug socket and an oil wrench (or screw driver ;) ).

(More customer reviews)This is the second ratio rite I have bought. The first lasted 15 years and handles all my fluid measuring needs when working on a motorcycle or small gas engine.
Works well for fork oil, gear oil, engine oil. Have not used for brake oil or coolant but guess it would work well for them.
If you need to measure and pour fluids in the range of 50 cc to 500 cc (2 - 18 oz) (1/8 to 1 pint) or pre mix oil into gas for 1 Gal 1.5 Gal 2.0 Gal 2.5 Gal for various ratios, THIS PRODUCT GETS WHAT YOU NEED.
Just make sure you can see the small raised letters molded into the plastic cup.
