Let's face it...nobody likes to get messy with an oil change. Turning the drain plug those last couple turns...knowing the hot oil just waiting to spew all over your hand and burn you like you just touched a hot stove. Not with this slick bad boy. Turn it a 1/4 turn, and it flows out smooth as silk. With the drain nipple, you have precision guidance with this thing. Want to fill up old oil containers? Easy. Done. No burnt hands. So, yeah, it MAY take...20,30 seconds longer to drain vs the original drain plug. But who gives a crap? I'd rather watch it drain a little while longer than burn the heck out of my hand.
The F105N 20mm-1.5 fitted my Subaru STi perfectly. The "N" in the part number signifies the nipple part of the drain valve. If you're wondering, no, it doesn't stick down at all (If you're worried about hitting a bump and tearing it off) The subframe and other hard-parts on my STi hang down lower than the nipple does. No worries. If you bust that thing off...well, you're gonna have a lot more fixes on your hand than the just the stupid drain plug, I'll tell you that much.
I've had one on my old Jeep Wrangler for 50,000 miles plus. Zero leaks. So, when I got my STi, it was common sense to get one for the Subaru. Well worth it!
