#1 Bosch makes a TON of OEM products. More specifically high end vehicles such as BMW, MBZ, Etc.
#2 This filter has a holding capacity of 29.1 Grams vs. 26 grams for the Fram X2 vs. 13 grams for purolator PURE one. (I skipped over the MOBIL 1 filter in its entirety as the original one before the Extended performance version had people complain about flow problems , at that time They say its the same as the K&N yet K&N filters both air and oil are suppose to be praised for their flow. The problem also was they were saying the original mobil 1 filter was the same as K&N then even after mobil revised their filters to be "extended protection" they still say it's the same filter as K&N. Just the ambiguity alone lets me pass over these filters. Lets face it, your reading this review because you care about your car and you want to be SURE about your purchase.)
#3 Filter efficiency, 99.9% for the Bosch vs. Fram 97% vs. PureOne 99.9% but its low holding capacity knocks it out of contention right away
#4 Also with availability for applications and ability to buy in stores, the Bosch Distance plus is the way to go!
I found this with penzoil ultra is the best combination / protection you can get for your car. I combine this with both a magnetic oil drain plug which you can find anywhere on the internet and a DX04B-N52 high temp black nickel plated N52 high powered magnet on the end of the filter with a little strip of masking tape to make sure I don't lose it. I know this magnet combination sounds a little overboard and a little complex but I've done this for my 1992 BMW 325i and it has 220,000 miles, Zero engine sludge, uses zero oil, has zero leaks and has full compression across all cylinders. Oh yeah, I change my oil ONCE a year, do an oil analysis at the end of the year that comes back with an excellent report from blackstone labratories.
