B&M 10280 Aluminum Transmission Pan Review

BandM 10280 Aluminum Transmission Pan
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this pan for My '04 Dodge 2500 Cummins with a 48RE tranny. I was a little worried because the picture shows the chrome version while the part number refers to the plain cast aluminum. Luckily, the one that arrived is in fact plain cast aluminum. The pan is a heavy casting, I was very pleased, although the machining on the flange could have been a little better.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover some extras not mentioned in the product description: in addition to the drain plug, there is a tapped 1/8" port for a temp sensor, and an aluminum extension for the filter so that it sits down in the pan and takes advantage of the extra fluid depth.
Filter and gasket are included along with stainless allen bolts for bolting the pan to the tranny. The gasket is unfortunately just a cork gasket, probably the re-useable OEM gasket would be a better choice.
With free shipping from Amazon Prime this was a great bargain!

Installed on a 2000 Astro after a transmission rebuild. I load up my van quite a bit. Held temperatures from 115 to 150 f in sunny s. cali. AC on. Do not believe the tranny will overheat in these conditons. Great product.***caution***
don't stare at it too long, hypnotizing! Nicely constructed cooler.

This is a very nice cooler. It is built to last and looks great! The kit comes with everything you would need and more for custom mounting. It's a great deal at only $10 more than "racing" version that doesn't come with anything but the cooler.
UPDATE 1/26/2011: The cooler mounting is still sturdy and haven't had one issue and the transmission is nice and healthy. Definitely a good choice! I would also recommend installing an inline filter before the cooler just as an extra precaution while you're monkeying around in there. It's cheap insurance and will save a transmission.

Product seems to be well-constructed and of good quality. However, it is not a kit and you have to find local sources for the fittings to hook everything up. I was able to find the parts I needed at my local NAPA store.

Hayden, Inc. 459 Oil Cooler Review

Hayden, Inc. 459 Oil Cooler
Average Reviews:

This oil cooler has been in my car for several months now and is working great. It will increase your oil capacity by about a quart though. When the engine is hot and you put your hand up against it it feels quite warm so that must mean it's doing its job.
PROS:
1)relatively cheap
2)easy installation
3)works good
CONS:
1)did not come with mounting spacers, had to get nylon spacers at osh to hold the cooling unit away from the grill. then use zipties to mount it behind the grill.
2)construction of the cooling unit seems non-robust, but should not be a problem since it should be mounted clear of debris and rocks

Easy enough to install, though I had to get another hose/screw connector to make it work with the Chevy 1500 (2006). The 2006 model has solid metal lines, and the adapters weren't in sufficient # (needed 3 only had 2). Auto parts store hooked me up though it could have been a real bear.
It's OBVIOUS the transmission is running cooler, as you can touch the final tube on the stock trans oil cooler, and then touch the final tube on the Hayden. HUGE difference.

Before you buy this cooler, measure the place you want to mount it. I got ready to mount it
and it wouldn't go through the whole in the front of the truck. It seems pretty well built,
but has not mounting tabs. I would prefer exterior mounting tabs to the plastic bolts through
the radiator.

Average Reviews:

I installed this cooler on my 99 accord a few weeks ago and the car seems to be shifting a bit smoother. My main objective is that it will prolong the life of my transmission. The kit came with almost everything needed to do the job including instructions, but depending on where you mount the cooler you might need some extra hose. Only complaint is the thing feels a bit flimsy, but for 34 bucks on amazon can't go wrong.

B&M 70268 SuperCooler Automatic Transmission Cooler Review

BandM 70268 SuperCooler Automatic Transmission Cooler
Average Reviews:

This cooler does what's expected of one, I guess... not much to say about it.
It comes with 2 sizes of brass NPT fittings to interface with your existing factory cooler, if equipped.Supposedly there is an orifice bypass which serves to prevent overcooling, I guess that's cool except if you live in Arizona where overcooling doesn't really happen and instead you'd rather have all the flow you can get.
In case anyone wants a reference of functionality, I have a 2001 S10 4x4 with 4.3L engine & 4L60E transmission. On 110 degree days at 75mph my transmission used to run 240F, now with this cooler it runs about 205-210F under those conditions.

I just installed this on my 2005 scion xA. Amazon said it will not fit my vehicle, but I measured it there was room so I ordered it. Fairly easy to install. The only thing I did was swap the supplied 3/8" hose for a 5/16" hose since that is the size of the fittings on the transmission. Works great as far as I can tell. Highly recommend.

Derale 13503 Series 8000 Plate and Fin Transmission Oil Cooler Review

Derale 13503 Series 8000 Plate and Fin Transmission Oil Cooler
Average Reviews:

Installed this AFT cooler on my 2005 Honda Pilot over the weekend. The item was complete for installation, except there was not enough rubber hose to complete the project. To attach the cooler to the front of the radiator, we had to remove the grill and front bumper. We used an existing screw location to attach it to the front of the air conditioner. Even with taking the most conservative route, we needed more hose for proper installation. Works great, no leaks, needed to add a bit more ATF after the install.

Hayden, Inc. 402 Transmission Oil Cooler Review

Hayden, Inc. 402 Transmission Oil Cooler
Average Reviews:

Well I did alot of shopping before deciding to buy this cooler from Amazon.
One major consideration was price of course. You can't get it any cheaper anywhere!! Trust me I have checked.
Also this one fits perfect for my 2002 Honda Odyssey which is prone to have transmission failure and did at 84,000 miles and now have 101,000 and I just bought it so I want to last a very long time.
After installing it inconjunction with my flushed oem cooler I noticed that the line temperature was much cooler after driving than without the cooler. So that alone will help save the transmission.
The kit was complete for my setup and was very easy to install.
I decided to spray mine lightly with flat black paint so that it does not showup through the bumper.
I am a BMW master technician and I would for sure recommend this cooler for its build quality, function, and price.
