(More customer reviews)I have a soft foot on the gas pedal. My wife, on the other hand, is a leadfoot. I purchased this to provide a constant reminder for her.
It was easy enough to install in my 2010 Toyota Corolla. Plug it in and away we go. Since my wife usually drives during the daytime, I set the brightness to the highest of four settings and placed the gauge on the dashboard directly in front of the driver's seat.
The first problem was obvious immediately - one cannot read the meter in sunlight; the LEDs are not bright enough. I relocated the meter under the dashboard in front of the instrument panel. That location was OK when the sun didn't hit it, but when the sun did, which was about half the time, one could not read it. Sadly, the "constant reminder" wasn't reminding anyone.
The second problem appeared after about two weeks. The "Radial Fuel Efficiency Graph" normally returns to one LED when stopping at a traffic light. However, on occasion it would stop at a higher position, with most of the green LEDs lit. Then as one accelerated, not much, if anything, would happen. This was true whether the A/C was off or on.
On the good side, the unit is well built, easy to use, and all four displays seemed accurate. my Corolla has a factory fuel economy reading, and the Ecometer's displayed mpg was extremely close to the factory mpg. Same for the RPM. If it didn't have a visibility problem I would have been a lot happier with it.

B&M 80212 Transmission Temperature Gauge Kit Review

(More customer reviews)Purchased and installed both a B&M SuperCooler and this transmission fluid temperature gauge. The installations were relatively easy however I suspected that the gauge was not reading correctly so I tested the sender and the gauge. My results indicated that the gauge reads approx 20% low on the low end of the scale and 20% high on the high end of the scale. It is fairly accurate at mid-scale (160-180 degrees). I think that this amount of variation is unacceptable and wrote 2 letters to B&M asking for their assistance in correcting this issue. They have not responded to either of my letters. Because of B&M's failure to respond I would not recommend this product and I would be hesitant to purchase any of their products. Poor customer service does not sell products.

OTC 3596H Oil Light Reset Tool Kit Review

(More customer reviews)Ordered this because it's supposedly a "2010" kit which is totally misleading. I work for a new car dealer and we receive many late model Bmw's and Mercedes as trade ins in which we perform oil service as neeeded. Attempted to use this tool according to the tool's operator's guide on 2007 and newer Bmw's and Mercedes. The tool did not work on the later European vehicles at all, tried on 8 different vehicles and kept getting "communication failure". Tried everything I could to ensure that it was not operator error. Attempted to manually reset the oil maintenance interval as stated in operator's manual and that did not even work. The information is terribly vague. The tool did work on one 2004 Mercedes E500 and on a 2004 Audi Quattro. It has a usb port for future upgrades but the kit does not have directions on how to upgrade and on Otc's website there is no information either. Maybe the tool I received is defective but it did work on older model vehicles. The manual reset procedures did not work either so it's anyone's guess. I do not wish to waste any more time on the tool.I'm glad that Amazon will give me a refund.
