(More customer reviews)I intend to use this for something it may not have been designed for--water instead of oil. Thus, the item might rust and the seals might wear out. I live in the desert in Arizona and have my own well. When power goes out, I have no water. So I have 55-gallon barrels of water and this will be my pump. I had long looked for a pump with the threads for a water hose and this is the only one I've found. I haven't used it yet, but this pump appears very sturdy. I'll keep the seals oiled with silicon lubricant, dry it out after use and I think it'll be okay.

SIPHON PUMP--not for food use Review

(More customer reviews)I use this siphon to empty the gas tanks on my lawn mower and my snow blower when the seasons change. It does a great job, but after 2 seasons, the pump part seems to be worn through.
I will need to buy a new one when the seasons change again. It looks like the connector point at the hose and the pump is worn. I'm guessing they could have used better glue for this product.
