Z-max Power System Review

Z-max Power System
Average Reviews:

From an expert: Don't use any oil additives whatsoever, NONE of them are effective and many are damaging. Simply use a good quality oil, its got all the additives you need.
Everybody and their brother has some sort of miracle oil additive that promises to add horsepower, recondition your engine, increase fuel economy, and protect your engine from anything and everything. Listen to that claim, it even sounds like they're selling snake oil! Unfortunately they are. Prolong, Slick50, Duralube, zMax, etc have all been sued by the FTC for deceptive product marketing, as they have all been tested and none actually showed the benefits they tout. In some cases, the oil additives were actually more harmful for the engine then using oil alone. What about zMax? Nothing more then tinted mineral oil. How can this be? There are absolutely no standards or regulations governing the safety or effectiveness of oil additives. Oil additives fall into four categories: pure snake oil, PTFE, Zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, and detergent-based. The snake oil category are simply those products that are a complete sham, like zMax, Slick50 and Prolong. Do your research.....

K&N AEM-21-202DK AEM DryFlow Air Filter Review

KandN AEM-21-202DK AEM DryFlow Air Filter

I have used the AEM-21-202DK for about one and a half years and put less than 500 miles per year on the vehicle. This filter flat out does not work. The inside of the intake manifold is as dirty as the out side of the filter.

K&N bought out AEM. I have a 2002 Nissan Xterra with the 3.3l Supercharged engine. A couple of years ago I installed an AEM Brute Force Cold Air Intake System. I really liked the cold air intake from AEM, it was very easy to install and everything bolted right up perfectly but the cotton filter was kind of cheap looking for what you pay for it. I decided to buy a spare air filter to make cleaning them and swapping them out easier. The new filter is made by K&N and I like it much better. The build quality is great. It is a much more durable design. The new filter is red, not white like the picture shows. It also has a wire screen on it. It really looks like the typical K&N filter that you have to oil. This filter requires no oil so don't put oil on it. It's definitely an upgrade.

I received the item (filter) and it was perfect. It was the wrong size however and that was completely my fault for not making sure. I returned the item and received a refund. It's kind of hard to know who is trustworthy over the internet and I highly recommend this dealer.

Fits really well and flows nice too. As a note the filament is red not grey like the picture suggests. Other than that no complaints.

Works as advertised but the picture shown isn't the actual product. It's red with the mesh wire on the outside. These are made by K&N filters. I don't recall if they're the first who made open air filters but they were the most popular. They look exactly like K&N but no oil is necessary.
The benefit of not having the oil is you can't get your mass airflow sensor or throttle body contaminated.
